As a former Royal Marines commando Garry Curtis has faced some of the toughest and most dangerous situations it's possible to imagine.
But when he swapped Afghanistan for Kensington as a close protection bodyguard to the Beckham family he faced a meek foe - but one who was no less terrifying to his clients.
With former England captain David away playing for Paris Saint-Germain the 49-year-old found himself the man of the house for the night and responsible for Victoria and her children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
Garry picks up the story: "I was back from Afghanistan for a few months and was doing some close protection work.
"I was working for the Beckhams and would often spend all night in the house looking after them.
"One night Brooklyn came running in to where I was in the front part of the house and said 'Garry, Garry, are you afraid of mice?' I looked at it and said no I'm not and he said 'Can you come in the front room, mum says there is a mouse running about'
"I walked in and Mrs Beckham was stood on the settee and in my mind, the joker, I was going to jump up there too and say 'oh my God' but the professional in me kicked in and I said 'Mrs Beckham, what's the problem?'
"She said: 'I've seen a mouse running around, can you find it?'
"I had a little scuffle around and looked around but told her I couldn't find and it and she asked if we could get someone in. So I made a call to one of these Rentokill type places and they deployed someone on an emergency rate and they were there within the hour.
