Multiple casualties reported as swimmers get into distress off East Anglia coast on first day of summer holidays

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Sea Palling after the terrifying reports of four people stuck in the sea.

The Coastguards received a number of calls about the safety of four people in the water.

They have since been recovered and are being treated as “fairly serious”.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing two fire engines, half a dozen police cars, three ambulances and a coast guard helicopter and lifeboat at the scene.
